As part of the migration from SOAP to REST, please follow the five steps outlined below to ensure a smooth transition and go live.

1.      Register for the Developer Portal

The Developer Portal contains a public and private area. To access the private area, visit the Claims Portal website here, complete the form, following which you will receive your credentials. Developers can view and download information needed to integrate their system with the new Claims Portal REST interface. Developers can review documents, guides, the API’s and everything you need to start development to migrate to REST.

2.      Obtain testing credentials

API Developers who have registered for the Developer Portal can request REST API credentials for the Claims Portal Integration REST API interface (the test environment) using the following link:

Developer Portal Rest API Integration Credentials request form

This form is for Developers who are registered with Claims Portal as an A2A developer or software house and who wish to test the APIs for the change from SOAP to REST and start their development.

To assist us with planning the migration it would be most helpful if you would, please inform us of your high-level plan and proposed go-live date at ClaimsPortal@mib.org.uk.

3.      Submit Sign-off pack

When you have finished development please download, complete and submit your sign-off pack which can be found here.

This pack includes multiple tabs, all but one of which require your attention and completion to be successfully signed off into Production.

4.      Obtain Production credentials

Once you have received confirmation from us that your sign-off pack is approved, please request your production credentials here

5.      Go live

With your Production API credentials you can now switch to the REST API.

It is important to note that it is not possible for an organisation to use both SOAP and REST at the same time. Once you migrate/switch to using REST, all SOAP messages should stop.
